Yachting Journalists and Mason Sailboats
What is it about Mason sailboats that attracts accomplished sailors/journalists/authors to own and sail them. Just read some of their stories to find out! TOM CUNLIFFE
Cunliffe has been sailing since 1961 and has sailed on all sorts of vessels. Traditional boats were Tom’s passion for many years, but he and his wife Ros found their way to a Mason 44, CONSTANCE. He is a regular featured writer for Sail and Yachting World and has contributed articles to many other publications. He has a web site and irregularly posts informative and always entertaining Video blogs. Tom is a Yachtmaster Examiner and has literally written the book…”The Complete Yachtmaster”. NANCY & TOM ZYDLER
Nancy & Tom Zydler sail aboard their Mason 44 FRANCES B. Tom is a marine author and photographer and has written many articles and cruising guides. Nancy is an author and painter. Together they sailed round the world via South America and Antarctica in their yacht Mollymawk and also went around the world on a 94-foot expedition yacht. Together, they wrote “The Panama Guide” and the “Cruising Guide to The Georgia Coast”. Tom is a regular contributor to Cruising World, Yachting World and other marine publications. There recent adventures on their Mason 44 have taken them to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador and Greenland. JOE MINICK
Joe Minick and his wife Lee have been sailing their Mason 43 SOUTHERN CROSS for many years, most recently spending an extended period in the Mediterranean. Joe wrote one of the early reviews of the Mason 43. He is a contributor to Practical Sailor and has published articles in Cruising World and other marine publications. LESLIE LINKKILA & PHILIP DINUOVO
For 14 years, Leslie and Philip lived aboard their Mason 33 CARINA sailing the wide Pacific. They are active members of the Seven Seas Cruising Association and were recently named members of the Cruising Club of America. They have extensive experience preparing a small cruising sailboat for living aboard and ocean passages. You can visit their blog at sv-carina.org. In the summer of 2017, they made an epic voyage across the Pacific from Pohnpei to Sitka, eventually returning to their home in Kingston, WA.
